CENTRE FOR DISPUTE RESOLUTION WORKSHOP

The CDR workshops covers the rules and procedures of the MEIBC’s dispute resolution service, as well as provides insights into interesting case law and important legal issues.

Are you a business owner, a practitioner in human resources or industrial relations? Are you an employee representative or shop steward? Are you required involved in dispute resolution as part of your task?

If you have answered ‘Yes’ to any of the above questions, then read on!

As a service to the industry, the Metal and Engineering industries Bargaining Council (MEIBC) is holding educational workshops on its dispute resolution function.

Our workshops are facilitated by a team of highly knowledgeable MEIBC members of staff, who have extensive experience in working with industry agreements and labour law.

All our workshops are interactive, allowing delegates the opportunity to share their experiences with other participants and engage directly with the facilitators.

Delegates will leave the workshops with an improved understanding of the regulations and processes that apply to the metal and engineering industry.

This half-day workshop guides delegates through the dispute resolution system and highlights recent changes. The facilitator also examines the MEIBC’s dispute resolution statistics and trends, with comparisons to national developments.

Workshop overview:

  • Explanation of the MEIBC’s dispute resolution process
  • Dispute resolution trends and statistics
  • How does the con-arb process work?
  • Compliance management and dispute resolution
  • Key learnings from commissioners
  • Case studies
