With reference to the Lift Industry Settlement Agreement dated 15 July 2024 in the above regard, it is advised that the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for April 2026, as published by Statistics South Africa (Stats SA), was 4.0%. In line with the wage model of the Lift Engineering Industry Settlement Agreement, the increases for wages and other allowances for this sector for the period 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2027 are set at 4.5%, as the CPI (4.0%) plus 0.5% equals 4.5%.
